Snapshot - Joinery & Building Trades July 2021

This Award Snapshot has been prepared as an easy reference guide for ACFA members. Members can also refer to the full award from the Fairwork Ombudsman which is available to view and download from the ACFA website or seek further clarification or advice from ACFA’s workplace advice team. 

This award covers employers throughout Australia of employees in the joinery and building trades industries and occupations who are covered by the classifications in this award and those employees. As such it does cover shop-fitting and stonemasonry work including stone and stone-composite bench-tops work.

If, as a business, your predominant work is kitchens or other in-built furniture with employees working predominantly within the factory working with timber/timber based products, then award coverage for factory workers, cabinetmakers, etc falls under the Timber Industry Award 2010.
